Hey, A Word I Finally Recognize!

I have Dictionary.com's Word of the Day on my site and the words are almost always new to me.

I know this word because at my job we use it to describe a person who has lost vision later in life, rather than someone born without vision.

For example, a person in an accident who loses their sight, but up until that time had vision.
